Freelife Marketing Executive Bikes For Charity

Although Director David Weigel is a relatively new member of the FreeLife Family, he has already fully embraced FreeLife’s passion and commitment to children. After three educational and fun-filled days in Orlando, Florida, at FreeLife’s SERVE 2007 Convention, David was ready for the next big challenge in his life. Rather than board a flight for his journey back to Maine, David mounted his bike instead to make the 2000-mile trek—all the while raising money for one of his favorite organizations—the Children’s Miracle Network.

David’s journey lasted 24 days and took him through 11 states, ending in Bangor, Maine, at the Eastern Maine Medical Center (one of seven state hospitals which Children’s Miracle Network donations benefit). David even managed to lose 12 pounds!

At 47 years of age, David was a bit apprehensive to attempt such a grueling trip. However, after discovering the power of Himalayan Goji Juice, he was determined to accomplish his goal. “I wanted to set an example for kids in particular who spend too much time drinking soda in front of video games,” said Weigel. “I really want to encourage young people to get out in the world, to play sports, to ride a bicycle, to work their bodies while they get a good chance to.”

This is probably the most important CEO Update I've ever written. It's regarding a topic most CEOs never talk about for a variety of reasons. Perhaps the reason is that it is not easy to talk about this topic without running the risk of sounding "too soft." However, I want to talk about it in depth because it is clearly the reason for our enormous success. It is the reason we will continue to be successful and become a billion-dollar company. And, it's the secret to your success in FreeLife® and in life.
It's all about the "Love"! Yes, that is the simple secret to our success: love. Love is, without question, the most powerful force in the universe. When love is fully applied, problems seem to vanish, solutions appear, relationships dramatically improve, we become much happier and miraculous things begin to happen in our lives. One of the greatest ways to practice love is by utilizing the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." It's a simple rule, but extremely powerful when applied consistently and fully. At FreeLife, we certainly admit we are not perfect, but we try our best every single day to live the Golden Rule.
Now, some of you might be thinking, "What in the world does love have to do with business success?" The answer is, EVERYTHING! I believe our success is directly related to how much love we give to others. The more love we give out, the more love we get back. Yes, March 2007 was our largest month ever and, in fact, the first quarter of 2007 represented our largest quarter in history and our fourteenth consecutive record quarter dating back to the launch of Himalayan Goji Juice in October 2003! So, our hats are off to all of you around the world who are spreading the good news of Himalayan Goji Juice at a faster rate than we ever thought possible.
Our continued momentum made me reflect upon a pledge Kevin and I made to our Royal Ambassadors at our March Madness event in Las Vegas. In fact, in our industry, the youngest company that currently does over $1 billion in annual sales is Nu Skin®, launched 23 years ago in 1984, and prior to that was Herbalife®, launched 27 years ago in 1980. No Direct Sales company launched since that time has achieved $1 billion in annual sales. Not a single one launched in the 23 years since 1984! That's pretty remarkable to consider.
And, what do those billion-dollar companies launched in the 1980s have in common (along with two other multi-billion-dollar Direct Sales companies, Mary Kay® and Amway®)? The men and woman who started those companies were distributors with other companies before they launched their own billion-dollar company! I'll touch more on the crucial importance of that later, but for now, please know that Kevin and I share that same perspective, having once been distributors in one of those billion-dollar companies before we launched FreeLife. This unique "distributor perspective" appears to be of enormous consequence.

NO LITTLE PEOPLE (Revisited)

One of the most frequent comments I receive from people around the world is how much they appreciated a letter I published last June titled, "No Little People." Because we have had so many new people join us since the writing of that letter, I’ve decided to reprint it here in its entirety for those who may not have read it yet. Enjoy!~Ray
Dear Friends,
As Kevin and I recently concluded our Co-Founders' Canadian Tour, we spent time sharing the excitement, fun, inspiration, and special experiences we had with our wonderful Canadian FreeLife Family.
We heard testimonials regarding Himalayan Goji Juice that brought tears to our eyes.
We looked into the eyes of new friends who expressed thanksgiving for the opportunity to earn residual income, pay down a credit card bill, and put money in the bank.
We heard words of appreciation and gratitude for the Mission of FreeLife, and for the impact we are having on children throughout the world with GojiKids.
Everywhere we went, we felt surrounded by loving, gracious people who had found a home with us. Our promise to them: "This is the last Direct Selling company you will ever have to build."
Amidst all of these wonderful memories, one comment stood out in my mind. I was in Calgary. Over 600 people came to celebrate, learn, and enjoy the evening. It was truly like a FreeLife Family reunion!
After the meeting, there were long lines of people wanting to say "Hi," shake hands, and just share a few moments. This is one of my favorite times because it gives me a chance to have some one-on-one time with our wonderful Marketing Executives.
As I looked down to shake the hand of a beautiful young mother, she said:

My response to her was immediate. I gave her a hug and said:

I watched her as she walked away, holding the hand of her shy, beautiful little daughter. Her words echoed in my mind. "I'm just one of the little people..."

Congratulations on a record January! While we are still adding up end-of-month orders, it is already clear that we broke numerous sales records including all-time record sales in our largest market, North America! Stay tuned for more great news a little later in the month on our Momentum Webcast.

One of the most common questions I get when I speak to people around the world regarding our Himalayan Goji Juice is, "What makes it so special?" I think that's a fair question. People are stunned when they hear that we have more than doubled in size for three consecutive years. That's pretty much unheard of for any company in any industry. So they wonder how this could be. How could a company grow so rapidly?

I believe the answer is very obvious... results! People all over the world are getting phenomenal results with Himalayan Goji Juice. Yes, we have incredible history on the goji berry dating back thousands of years where it was considered the preeminent body tonic by both Himalayan and Chinese healers. Yes, the peer-reviewed, scientific evidence on the goji berry is outstanding with 79 studies on pubmed.gov under the Latin name of the goji berry, Lycium barbarum. Even the renowned Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York has a webpage devoted to the goji berry (http://www.mskcc.org/mskcc/html/69287.cfm). Last July, none other than TIME magazine called the "Himalayan Goji Berry the Superfruit of the Year!" And yes, Himalayan Goji Juice tastes great. It easily passes "the kids' test."

While great history, superb science, and delicious taste are all important, all of them combined are not as important as "results." Himalayan Goji Juice gives people the results they are looking for. If you've been involved with FreeLife for longer than a week, you probably know exactly what I mean. The results we are hearing about are extraordinary. We hear them on the road when we're traveling. We get emails and phone calls with story after story after story. Reports of people sleeping better, feeling better, performing better, having better concentration and focus, better mobility, feeling happier, and having more energy than they have ever had in their life are routine.

Many of our Customers we have spoken to had spent years looking for a product that delivered life-changing health results. They had spent thousands and thousands of dollars on products that promised much but did not deliver the results they wanted. Then, they found Himalayan Goji Juice and their lives were changed.

Every once in a great while, I visit with a Customer who has a "confession" to make. They started getting great results with Himalayan Goji Juice and then, for one reason or another, they "switched" to another goji juice. More often than not, all the health benefits they were experiencing just disappeared. And then they quickly came back and started drinking our Himalayan Goji Juice and their health results returned. "How could that be?" they ask.
Again, the answer is quite simple. Not all goji products are created equal. Not by a long shot. In fact, we have yet to find another goji product on the market that even remotely compares to Himalayan Goji Juice.

You have to keep in mind that Dr. Mindell and his research team spent a considerable amount of time studying the goji berry and finding out what makes it work. Why was it revered by Himalayan and Chinese healers for thousands of years? What did modern science say?
The science was very clear. While the goji berry had a wide variety of naturally-occurring beneficial nutrients including vitamin c, amino acids, and trace minerals, the entire key to the benefits people received from the goji berry was in its unique polysaccharides, sometimes referred to as Master Molecules. Synergized together, they serve as directors and carriers of the instructions that cells use to communicate with each other. As a result, they are of great importance to the smooth functioning of virtually every cell in the entire body. Additionally, Dr. Mindell found that these goji polysaccharides (sometimes referred to in the scientific literature as LBPs), were unique and not found in any other plant on earth.

As Dr. Mindell looked at the peer-reviewed, scientific literature on the goji berry, it became very clear to him that the key to developing a truly beneficial goji berry juice would be to figure out how to maximize, balance, and standardize the unique polysaccharides. In the same way that human fingerprints can be used to distinguish one person from another, a spectrometer can detect even subtle differences between berries at the molecular level. Using this technique, we identified a "Spectral Signature," or fingerprint, for these polysaccharides. With help from scientists on several different continents and as a result of identifying this Spectral Signature, we were finally able to develop our trade secret, proprietary manufacturing process which allows us to deliver a consistently high level of perfectly balanced and fully active polysaccharides in every bottle.

While we still have numerous other naturally-occurring ingredients from the goji berry in our juice, these other ingredients vary from batch to batch. This is normal for any fruit. Depending on many factors, including weather, growing season, soil content, and geography, naturally-occurring nutrients in any fruit vary from batch to batch. Additionally, while you will find certain ingredients like protein in the goji berry itself, you won't find appreciable levels of protein in Himalayan Goji Juice. As noted in our Seven Step Manufacturing Process on our website, "Berries are juiced to a puree by cold pressing through a micro-fine screen to remove seeds and stems." As with many fruits, these seeds contain most, if not all, of the protein found in goji berries. This is why in some countries where we are required to list the protein content on the label of our Himalayan Goji Juice, we have always listed the amount as zero or non detect. We go to great lengths and expense to remove the seeds and stems to maximize the primary active ingredient, goji's unique polysaccharides.

Two days after drinking four ounces daily of Himalayan Goji Juice, my energy level increased dramatically. I did not experience my usual energy lull after eating and a need for a nap. Now, after eight days, my energy level is still way up! I feel great!

Himalayan Goji Juice
I am in relatively good health and am a high-energy person. I run my own contract cleaning business and work long, hard days five days a week, sometimes more. I also have a small ranch, run cattle, train horses, and barrel race. Needless to say, by evening, I am pretty tired. After about a week, I noticed that I felt refreshed upon waking. I am still tired by the time I quit for the day, but it’s a different kind of tired. I recover faster and am not completely exhausted.
